Google PAIR Explorables are a series of interactive web-based tools and visualizations developed as part of the Google People + AI Research (PAIR) initiative. The goal of Explorables is to make complex artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) concepts more accessible and understandable to a broad audience, including those who are not AI experts. Instead of being a product that uses AI to perform tasks, Explorables use interactive methods to explain how AI works, demonstrate key ML principles such as the importance of training data, the concept of bias, model limitations, and ethical considerations in AI applications. Examples of Explorables include tools for visualizing hidden biases in data or models, exploring the behavior of language models, or understanding the trade-offs involved in building fair AI systems. These resources are part of Google PAIR's efforts to advance a human-centered approach to AI development and research. The Google PAIR Initiative started around 2016, and Explorables emerged as one of the key outputs of this work. Explorables are web pages accessible through a browser on various devices. They are free and a publicly available educational resource. Integrations in the traditional sense are absent, as they are self-contained interactive learning materials. Videos related to PAIR and some Explorables can be found on Google AI or PAIR YouTube channels.
