Swadeshi AI: Andhra Pradesh Sovereign Stack

On February 20, 2026, the government of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh announced the creation of the "Swadeshi" sovereign AI stack. The project is implemented in partnership with IBM, BharatGen, and NxtGen.

This is a practical implementation of the course towards independence. The region does not rent APIs from Western corporations but deploys its own infrastructure for processing local languages and providing public services. Citizens' data remains within the state, and technologies are adapted to regional specifics.
