Hardware Alliance: Broadcom and Google Ink AI Chip Deal Until 2031
Silicon suppliers are cementing long-term revenues. On April 7, Broadcom officially confirmed (via an 8-K filing) a strategic agreement with Google extending to 2031.

The contract covers the development and supply of custom Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) and high-speed networking components for AI clusters. This is a critical step for the Google ecosystem: the corporation is reducing its dependence on NVIDIA by developing proprietary hardware. The scale of this infrastructure is staggering—Anthropic has already announced an expanded partnership to utilize several gigawatts of TPU power starting in 2027. The deal proves that in the AI computing market, vertical integration (software + in-house hardware) is becoming the only way to maintain profit margins.
