ByteDance: Own Chip to Kill Nvidia

On February 11, 2026, it was revealed that ByteDance (TikTok) is developing its own 5nm AI inference chip in partnership with Samsung. Project "SeedChip" aims to reduce reliance on Nvidia.

The Chinese giant is following the path of Google and Amazon: if you control the algorithms, you must also control the silicon. The goal is mass production as early as 2026, which will allow ByteDance to drastically cut costs for servicing TikTok's billion-strong audience.
