Generative Cinema: CANAL+ Integrates Google and OpenAI Neural Networks
On March 11, 2026, media giant CANAL+ announced a multi-year partnership with two competitors at once: Google Cloud and OpenAI. The French company is radically changing its approach to content production and the viewer experience.

The collaboration with Google Cloud will bring generative video tools (specifically, the Veo family model) into production pipelines, allowing the creation of b-roll footage, visual effects, and storyboard prototyping directly from text. OpenAI's algorithms will be responsible for hyper-personalization: smart searching through archives and generating recommendations based on the context of the viewer's request. The fact that a traditional TV holding is integrating AI generation directly into the production pipeline proves that neural networks are no longer just a toy, but a way to radically reduce post-production costs.
