Equinix Distributed AI Hub: Secure Hybrid AI for Enterprise

On March 11, 2026, data center operator Equinix announced the "Distributed AI Hub," a platform that solves the corporate sector's main pain point: paranoia over data leaks. The service was launched in partnership with cybersecurity giant Palo Alto Networks.

The Distributed AI Hub concept allows large businesses to deploy heavy AI workloads in a hybrid mode. Instead of dumping confidential corporate databases into a Public Cloud, computations (inference) take place in vendor-neutral Equinix data centers, as close to the data source as possible (low latency). The platform provides hardware isolation and Zero Trust at the network level. This is an architectural compromise for banks, medicine, and the public sector: the power of the cloud with the security of a local on-premise server.
