The European Commission announced the launch of the RAISE ("Resource for AI Science in Europe") pilot project at a summit in Copenhagen on November 4, 2025. This initiative is a virtual institute designed to unite and coordinate European resources necessary for advancing AI science. The project will provide researchers with access to shared data, computing infrastructure, and talent attraction programs. Funding will be provided through the Horizon Europe program (approximately €107 million) and other mechanisms. RAISE is part of the EUs strategy to strengthen its scientific sovereignty in the field of AI.
