Nir Zicherman and Michael Mignano, co-founders of the podcast platform Anchor which was sold to Spotify, unveiled their new project, Oboe, on September 23, 2025. It is an AI service that instantly generates an entire educational course on any topic upon user request. The platform creates structured text lectures, lists of key terms, self-assessment questions, and even short audio podcasts with synthesized AI hosts. As noted by The Verge in its review, Oboe is impressive in its ability to quickly create multi-format content; however, at this stage, the service has a critical flaw: a complete lack of source citations. This makes fact-checking impossible and increases the risk of "hallucinations," which is a serious obstacle to using Oboe as a reliable educational tool. The project illustrates the dilemma of modern AI products: the convenience and speed of generation do not yet guarantee accuracy.
