Rise of the Agents: Gartner Warns of Chaos Due to Uncontrolled AI Sprawl
New technologies spawn new corporate diseases. On April 28, 2026, Gartner analysts released a conceptual report, `Six Steps to Manage AI Agent Sprawl`, documenting a critical problem in the corporate sector: the uncontrolled proliferation of autonomous scripts.

While SaaS vendors like Box are massively integrating AI agents into business processes, Chief Information Officers (CIOs) are losing control over their own infrastructure. Agent Sprawl is a situation where hundreds of independent algorithms operate within a corporation, duplicating each other's functions, wasting API budgets, and creating "Shadow AI" with zero-day vulnerabilities. Gartner explicitly warns: without a rigid centralized IT architecture and continuous auditing, multi-agent systems will turn from an optimization tool into a generator of operational chaos and financial losses.
