AI in the Cart: Google Launches Virtual Try-On and Style Search Powered by Neural Networks
Monetization of generative intelligence is actively shifting into the B2C sector. On July 21, 2026, Google officially expanded the functionality of Google Shopping, integrating algorithms for advanced AI search (Lens) and Virtual Try-On.

This release is a pragmatic response to the dominance of TikTok and Amazon in e-commerce. Google is transforming AI from an abstract conversationalist into a utilitarian sales tool. The technology allows clothing to be draped over generated user avatars, taking fabric physics and body type into account. For retailers, this means a radical reduction in product returns (one of the main expense items in e-commerce). Google is building "invisible AI": the user doesn't write prompts, they simply click the screen, generating conversions and solidifying the corporation's advertising monopoly in online retail.
