Soft Power: Google Allocates $10M for AI Education in Asia
In the battle for the global technology market, not only billion-dollar infrastructure deals are used, but also classic "soft power." Google.org announced a $10 million expansion of the AI Opportunity Fund in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

The official goal of the program is to teach basic AI skills to 4.7 million students, teachers, and local workers. Against the backdrop of the $40 billion Alphabet is reserving for Anthropic's hardware infrastructure, this sum seems like a statistical rounding error. Strategically, however, it is a smart and inexpensive move to capture talent at an early stage. Mass training of Asian youth specifically on Google tools creates a loyal ecosystem of future developers and engineers, firmly tying the booming markets of the East to American software platforms (vendor lock-in through education).
