Digital Economy: Google Publishes AI-Driven Macroeconomic Development Plan for Australia
Big Tech continues to take on the functions of national ministries of economy. On July 31, 2026, Google’s Australian division, in collaboration with the Public First agency, released a massive analytical report titled "Building Australia’s Future: Unlocking New Opportunities with AI."

The document is essentially a political and economic manifesto. Google directly points out to Canberra that integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare, exports, and basic labor productivity is the country's only chance not to fall out of the global economic elite. Corporations are lobbying their interests under the guise of national rescue plans. By integrating Google software products into Australia's state institutions, the tech giant is cementing its status as a sovereign supplier. For the IT market, this is a classic scenario: whoever writes the state's development strategy gets the main budgets for its implementation.
