Asymmetric Response: Huawei Abandons Nanometer Race in Favor of Tau Architecture
Moore's Law is no longer a dogma for sanctioned economies. On May 29, 2026, the Huawei Corporation officially formalized its new semiconductor strategy, definitively moving away from the race for the physical shrinking of transistors.

Instead of trying to purchase banned EUV equipment for 2-nanometer processes, Chinese engineers are promoting the `Tau Scaling Law` and `LogicFolding` approaches. The strategy is based on a radical increase in intra-chip data exchange speed and optimization of architectural logic. For the industry, this is a fundamental shift. Huawei proves that the lag in lithography can be compensated for through innovations in layout (Advanced Packaging) and the optimization of AI accelerators (the Ascend family) for specific tasks. This technological "guerrilla warfare" renders US sanctions against PRC chipmakers meaningless in the long run.
