India Introduces "AI-Ready" Data Center Certification
The Indian government announced on December 23, 2025, the development of new certification standards for data centers (DCs), specifically tailored to artificial intelligence requirements. As reported by the Economic Times, the initiative aims to prepare national infrastructure to handle high-performance computing workloads. The "AI-ready" standard will include strict requirements for power density per rack, liquid cooling systems, and power grid resilience.

This move is part of New Delhi's broader strategy to transform the country into a global hub for AI computing. Traditional cloud DCs often struggle with the heat output of modern GPU clusters, slowing down model deployment. The new certification is designed to give investors and tech giants assurance that Indian facilities are technically prepared for future tasks. Experts believe this will accelerate foreign investment into India's digital sector and incentivize the upgrade of aging server fleets.
