IPPR: AI News Needs "Nutrition Labels"

On January 30, 2026, the IPPR think tank proposed introducing mandatory labeling for AI-generated news. Similar to food products, content should have a "label" indicating data sources (where the text was taken from: BBC, blogs, or social networks).

The initiative aims to combat disinformation and protect copyright. IPPR also urges forcing tech giants to pay publishers for using their materials. This is an important step towards transparency in a media space overflowing with synthetic content.
