Meta Unveils Ray-Ban Smart Glasses with Display and Neural Band

At its annual Connect conference on September 17, 2025, Meta unveiled the next generation of smart glasses, the Ray-Ban Display. Unlike previous models, the new version features a built-in mini-display that projects an image onto the right lens, creating an augmented reality (AR) effect. The glasses allow users to view notifications, get turn-by-turn navigation, use a real-time translator, and interact with an AI assistant. A key innovation is the control device—the "Neural Band," a wristband that reads electrical signals from the muscles, enabling control of the glasses through micro-gestures. This announcement, highlighted on the official Meta blog, marks a significant step for the company towards creating a full-fledged AR platform and moving away from smartphones as the primary interface for interacting with the digital world.
