European Compliance: Meta Signs AI Content Transparency Pact Ahead of Deadline

EU legislation continues to format the global IT market. On July 28, 2026, Meta officially signed the `EU AI Act Code of Practice` on AI content transparency. This is a pragmatic step aimed at minimizing legal risks ahead of August 2, when the strict rules of Article 50 of the new European law come into force.

The essence of the agreement is the mandatory watermarking of any texts, images, and videos generated by neural networks. Meta understands that refusing compliance will lead to multi-billion dollar fines or the complete blocking of its AI tools (including generation features in Instagram and WhatsApp) within the European Union. Signing the pact proves that the "wild west" of consumer AI is over. The ability of tech giants to implement on-the-fly filtering and labeling algorithms is becoming as important a competitive advantage as the parameter size of the language model itself.
