Microsoft announced on October 14, 2025, that starting in early 2026, an in-country data processing option for Microsoft 365 Copilot will be available to government and enterprise customers in the United Arab Emirates. This means that all user prompts to Copilot and the responses it generates will be processed and stored exclusively in Microsofts data centers located in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. According to the WAM news agency, this decision is a strategic move to comply with the UAEs strict data sovereignty and security requirements. The ability to ensure that corporate information does not leave the country significantly increases trust in AI services and removes one of the main barriers to their adoption in regulated industries. Additionally, local data processing will reduce latency, improving Copilots performance for users in the region.
