Data Sovereignty: Microsoft Localizes AI Infrastructure in Singapore
Corporate AI requires physical borders. On April 9, 2026, Microsoft announced the availability of the `Fabric Go Local` initiative and Windows 365 Link devices in Singapore.

This move is a response to tightening regulations in Asia. The launch of `Fabric Go Local` guarantees that the data of local Enterprise clients and the public sector will be stored and processed (including AI workloads) exclusively within Singaporean data centers. Amid recent scandals involving sanctions evasion in the region, Microsoft is offering the B2B segment a sterile legal environment. Localizing AI infrastructure is becoming the main trump card in the competition for contracts with banks and government agencies that are prohibited from cross-border data transfers.
