SMB Digitalization: Microsoft and MYOB Form 5-Year Alliance
AI is descending from corporate enterprises to small businesses. On April 8, 2026, Microsoft and accounting software developer MYOB signed a five-year strategic partnership agreement.

The goal of the deal is to integrate generative AI tools into platforms for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Australia and New Zealand. For Microsoft, this is a way to scale its services (and recoup colossal infrastructure investments in the region) by gaining access to the massive client base of a local vendor. Small businesses get the automation of routine accounting, tax calculations, and customer support, which was previously only available to transnational giants. The SaaS market continues to consolidate through strategic partnerships.
