Mistral AI: €1.2 Billion into Swedish Cold

On February 11, 2026, French unicorn Mistral AI announced the construction of data centers in Sweden worth €1.2 billion. EcoDataCenter is the partner. This is the company's first major expansion outside France.

The strategy is obvious: training next-generation models requires colossal energy, and Sweden offers "green" electricity and natural cooling. This is a step towards creating a sovereign European AI infrastructure independent of US hyperscalers.
