Neuralink Starts High-Volume BCI Production and Automated Implantation
In a series of statements made at the turn of 2025–2026, Elon Musk confirmed that his company Neuralink is moving to the "high-volume production" phase of neural interfaces. According to Reuters reports on January 1–2, 2026, the company is not only scaling chip manufacturing but also deploying fully robotic surgical systems for their implantation. The goal is to make the surgery as fast and accessible as LASIK eye surgery.

This move marks the transition of BCI (Brain-Computer Interface) technology from experimental medicine to commercialization. Musk emphasized that automation is critical to meeting the demand of millions of patients with paralysis and neurological conditions. Experts note that Neuralink's scaling will pressure regulators (FDA) to accelerate the adaptation of safety standards for mass-market neurotechnology.
