NTT, Chunghwa Telecom, and Accton Launch Japan-Taiwan Distributed AI Data Center Project

Telecommunications giants NTT (Japan) and Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan), together with Accton/Edgecore, announced the launch of a unique project on November 20, 2025. According to the official release, the companies are creating a cross-border network of distributed AI data centers using the innovative IOWN All-Photonics Network (APN). This will enable remote model training and inference, overcoming power constraints in Taiwan and ensuring ultra-low latency access to GPU clusters. The project aims to radically improve the energy efficiency of AI computing in the region.
