The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), NVIDIA, and Oracle announced a joint project on October 28, 2025, to build one of the worlds most powerful supercomputers dedicated to scientific research. As reported in an NVIDIA press release and confirmed by Bloomberg, the new system will be built using over 100,000 of the latest NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and will be hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The supercomputer will be used to tackle fundamental scientific challenges, including research in fusion energy, climate modeling, national security, and the search for new energy sources. This project demonstrates a massive convergence of cloud computing capabilities and advanced AI hardware to accelerate scientific discovery.
