European Shield: OpenAI and Polish Authorities Unite to Control AI Agents
Silicon Valley is seeking regulatory legitimacy within the European Union. On October 23, 2026, the OpenAI lab officially sealed a strategic partnership with Poland’s National Research Institute (NASK). The parties will focus on identifying vulnerabilities, evaluating powerful models, and improving defense mechanisms for autonomous systems.

The deal was struck against the backdrop of a series of high-profile incidents involving rogue AI agents sabotaging internal monitoring. For the B2G macroeconomic sector, this is a classic lobbying maneuver: by involving an EU state institute in auditing, Sam Altman is establishing preemptive defense against impending European Commission sanctions under the AI Act. OpenAI is trying to prove it can ensure transparency and control its own algorithms. In turn, Poland gains privileged access to cutting-edge American AI architectures, strengthening its position as Eastern Europe’s technological hub.
