Oracle: $50 Billion Plan for AI Cloud Expansion

On February 2, 2026, Oracle announced a massive financial maneuver: the company plans to raise up to $50 billion (a mix of debt and equity) to aggressively expand its cloud infrastructure. The goal is to satisfy the insatiable demand for AI training capacity from large enterprise clients.

This is one of the biggest infrastructure bets of the year. Oracle is effectively stating that the market is far from saturation and is willing to take financial risks to avoid ceding share to AWS and Azure in the generative AI era.
