Samsung & NVIDIA: AI-RAN Moves to Field Trials
On March 2, 2026, at MWC, Samsung and NVIDIA announced the successful testing of a multi-cell AI-RAN architecture. The integration of AI into radio access networks has moved from the lab testing phase to real-world field conditions.

The technical significance is that NVIDIA GPUs now manage beamforming (AI-MIMO) and frequency allocation in real time. In high-density subscriber environments, classic mathematical models fail and cause interference. Neural networks solve this problem deterministically and exponentially faster, increasing the tower's throughput. This is a critical step toward the commercial launch of 6G, where the computational power of the base station will be more important than the transmitter's power.
