Samsung Bets on Open Ecosystems for Home AI

Samsung Bets on Open Ecosystems for Home AI
In a series of announcements on January 7, 2026, at CES, Samsung Electronics highlighted a paradigm shift in smart home development. The company officially stated that the future of Home AI lies in open ecosystems, not "walled gardens." New Bespoke appliance lines now support enhanced compatibility protocols, allowing Samsung AI agents to control third-party devices, and vice versa.

This move aims to eliminate IoT market fragmentation, which has stalled mass smart home adoption for years. Samsung is deeply integrating support for Matter and HCA (Home Connectivity Alliance) standards, enabling users to assemble a "lego set" of best-in-class devices from different brands while maintaining a unified intelligent control center. Experts see this as Samsung's attempt to become the "operating system" for the smart home, regardless of whose hardware is in the kitchen.
