Trillionaire Club: SK Hynix Market Cap Breaks $1T Amid Memory Shortage
The physics of silicon dictates the rules of the global economy. On May 27, 2026, the market capitalization of South Korea's SK hynix officially surpassed the $1 trillion mark. The company deservedly joined the elite hardware club following Samsung and Micron.

This growth is a direct consequence of the macroeconomic trend we observed in mid-May. Massive computing clusters for generative AI are absolutely useless without ultra-fast HBM (High Bandwidth Memory). SK hynix, which holds a leading position in HBM chip production, has become the main beneficiary of the hyperscalers' insatiable appetite. The market has definitively recognized that the bottleneck of the AI industry lies not only in processor logic (GPU) but also in memory bandwidth. Basic infrastructure monopolists continue to skim the cream off the technological revolution.
