SpaceX: Orbital AI Data Centers
On February 1, 2026, SpaceX's application to the FCC for deploying a network of orbital data centers was revealed. The plan involves launching up to 1 million satellites using solar energy to power AI computations. This is a radical attempt to solve the industry's main problem — energy shortages and cooling difficulties of terrestrial data centers.

The project is viewed in conjunction with xAI and IPO preparations. If implemented, this architecture will create a distributed "space" infrastructure for model training, independent of Earth's power grids, albeit with latency questions.
