On February 2, 2026, analyst agency TrendForce updated its Q1 forecast. A sharp jump in DRAM contract prices (+90–95% QoQ) and significant growth in NAND costs are expected. The reason is frantic demand from data centers deploying AI workloads.
This is the "AI tax" in action. The sharp rise in component costs will directly hit the cost of deploying new clusters and may slow down capacity commissioning for second-tier players.
