The University of Melbourne introduced a new AI model, DT-GPT, on November 17, 2025 (as reported in npj Digital Medicine). This model is capable of creating patient "digital twins" based on their electronic health records (EHRs) to accurately predict their future health trajectories. The model was trained on three complex datasets (Alzheimers disease, lung cancer, ICU patients) without being told the actual outcomes, which were used for validation. In tests, DT-GPT outperformed 14 other state-of-the-art ML models, showing huge potential for personalized medicine, early intervention, and optimizing clinical trials.
