USA: AI Diplomacy Against China

On February 12, 2026, at the APEC summit, the US announced an AI support fund for Asia. The program aims to finance the adoption of American technologies in the region so as not to cede the market to China.

This is technological "soft power." Washington understands that AI standards adopted in Asia today will determine the geopolitical balance for decades. The money will go to training and infrastructure, "tethering" the region to Western ecosystems.
