Davos 2026: World Leaders to Discuss Control Over Autonomous AI
On January 13, 2026, the World Economic Forum (WEF) published the official agenda for its annual meeting in Davos. The central theme is declared as "The Post-AI Economy and Risks of Autonomy." For the first time in the forum's history, technological risks are prioritized above climatic and geopolitical ones.

The document emphasizes the need to create supranational mechanisms for controlling Agentic AI—systems capable of making financial and management decisions without humans. It is expected that at the forum (January 19-23), a draft of the "Global Pact on AI Safety" will be presented, supported by G7 leaders and major tech corporations. Davos 2026 will be an attempt to regain control over technology that is developing faster than laws.
