Zoho Launches Its Own "Zia" LLM with a Focus on Enterprise Privacy

Indian technology corporation Zoho, one of the worlds largest providers of SaaS business solutions, announced on July 17, 2025, the launch of its own large language model (LLM) under the Zia brand. This strategic move, as reported by leading Indian and international IT publications, including The Indian Express and Techzine Global, is aimed at creating an independent and secure AI ecosystem for its enterprise customers. The main competitive advantage of the new Zia model family is its focus on privacy and deployment flexibility. Unlike many competitors who offer access to their AI models exclusively through public cloud APIs, Zoho provides clients with the option to use Zia in completely private environments. The models can be deployed either on a companys own servers (on-premise) or in a private cloud, ensuring that sensitive corporate data never leaves the clients secure perimeter. This approach directly addresses one of the main fears of large businesses when implementing AI – the risk of leaking trade secrets and other sensitive information. The Zia models will be deeply integrated into Zohos entire product line, including CRM, office applications, and collaboration tools, providing features such as intelligent document summarization, automation of routine tasks, data analysis, and report generation. By betting on its own LLM, Zoho aims not only to enhance its products but also to offer the market a secure and independent alternative to solutions from American tech giants, which is particularly relevant for companies that place a high value on data sovereignty.
