Adobe Firefly is Adobe's response to the growing demand for generative AI tools within creative workflows. It's not a single model but a family of models trained on Adobe Stock's vast library, openly licensed content, and public domain content, ensuring the generated assets are commercially safe. Firefly enables designers, marketers, and other creative professionals to quickly bring ideas to life. Key features include: Text-to-Image for creating photorealistic images and art from descriptions; Generative Fill and Generative Expand in Photoshop for seamlessly adding, removing, or expanding parts of an image using text prompts; Text Effects for applying styles and textures to text; and Generative Recolor for rapidly generating color variations of vector graphics in Illustrator. Firefly is integrated directly into the workflows of popular Creative Cloud applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Express, and is also available as a standalone web application at firefly.adobe.com. Adobe emphasizes ethical AI use and incorporates Content Credentials technology to indicate AI usage in content creation. Firefly usage is typically based on a system of "generative credits," which are included in Creative Cloud subscriptions or purchased separately and consumed when performing generative actions.
