Mirror Response: Beijing Prepares Strict Export Restrictions on AI Models
Ahead of the September talks with Washington, China is playing its geopolitical trump cards. On July 21, 2026, information leaked to the media that Beijing is considering the introduction of strict export controls on neural network weights, algorithmic architectures, and training datasets.

This is a fundamental shift in positions. Previously, export embargoes (on chips and lithography) were threatened almost exclusively by the US. Now, following the release of open heavyweights like Kimi K3 and superclusters from Huawei, China has realized its monopoly power. The ban on the free export of Chinese software and technology is a direct blow to developing countries and Asian businesses that have become "hooked" on cheap open alternatives from the PRC. Beijing is forming its own technological customs: access to Chinese AGI will only be granted in exchange for political and economic loyalty.
