Vatican Manifesto: «Magnifica Humanitas» Encyclical Published, Christopher Olah Demands AI Oversight
Update to materials from May 16, 17, and 24. The Vatican has officially presented its historic manifesto on AI Governance. The Catholic Church’s first-ever encyclical on artificial intelligence has been officially titled «Magnifica Humanitas» (Magnificent Humanity). Pope Leo XIV called on world leaders to "slow down" the frontier model race to protect human dignity, labor rights, and mitigate the military risks of autonomous systems.

The main sensation of the presentation was the speech by Anthropic co-founder Christopher Olah. Speaking from the Vatican podium, one of the planet’s leading AI architects openly opposed his Silicon Valley colleagues, asserting that the development and regulation of superintelligence cannot be left solely to the discretion of IT corporations. This demarche exposes a rift within Big Tech: Anthropic is tactically leveraging the ethical agenda and demonstrating strict loyalty to oversight bodies to displace OpenAI from future government and defense contracts.
